Server Down – Network issue

There server has been offline for about 35 minutes or so. There is a network problem of some kind at the data center where the server is located. They have said it should be resolved soon.

Server is offline, there has been a support ticket in with the datacenter for 30 minutes, still trying to find out what’s going on.

Update — Server should be back up in about 1 hour

The datacenter where the server is located had to replace a Power Distribution Unit, because monitoring showed a fault. They sent an email to me yesterday, but it went into spam. The server should be back up around 1:00 Central time.

I’m not sure what the issue is. I just received a page saying the server was down and have contacted the support company to reboot and investigate. Assuming no major problems, the server will be up in 5-10 minutes.

The server is backup, but there is a DB error

The server is back online, but one vBulletin table appears to be corrupted. We are attempting to repair that table.

The server is currently down. It was experiencing some unusual traffic, that was probably an attack of some kind. The support company is attempting to get the server back online now.

Upgrade is nearing completion

BroncosForums is upgrading the vBulletin software. This process should only take 10-30 minutes.

Several reboot tests to be performed overnight

Due to the fact that the reboot I did earlier tonight took about 12 minutes, rather than the 2-3 minutes it normally would, there will be a few tests performed tonight. Right now, a tech in the datacenter is rebooting the server and watching the console to see if there is any indication why it is taking so long to reboot.

Then, at 3:00 am Central time, a tech from the linux management company that handles the Linux admin functions will perform a similar reboot test.

If either of those test reveal a problem (hardware or software), it could lead to further tests being performed overnight.

Site should be back up momentarily. It hadn’t been rebooted in a while, and need a reboot after a number of installs/updates in recent weeks.
